Commercial Concrete Contractor in London, Ontario
Property managers, general contractors and plant owners bring Concrete Surface Solutions in when a pour has to meet a spec, pass inspection and finish on schedule. We build sidewalks, barrier curbs, parking islands, loading aprons, bin pads and interior slabs for plazas, offices and industrial buildings across the London region.
With 20+ years in concrete and 950+ jobs behind us, we know how to keep a storefront open while its entrance is replaced. Our crews are WSIB covered and insured, and we hand over the paperwork commercial clients need: mix submittals, delivery tickets and photo records.

Scope of work
Commercial Concrete Services for London Businesses
We pour and repair the concrete that commercial and industrial properties depend on every day, inside and out. Our clients include general contractors who need a reliable flatwork sub, property managers maintaining plazas and office parks, and owners of warehouses and plants.
Every job is priced from your drawings or a site walk, built to the specified CSA A23.1 exposure class, and closed out with the records your file needs.
Sidewalks, Curbs and Parking Areas
Our commercial sidewalk, curb and parking area crews pour barrier curb, curb and gutter, landscaped islands, accessible ramps with tactile plates and storefront walks. Exterior work uses an air-entrained mix built for salt and plows.
Warehouse and Industrial Floor Slabs
We place warehouse and industrial concrete floors over vapour barrier and compacted base, then power trowel and saw cut a joint pattern matched to your racking. We also replace failed slab sections and rebuild broken joints.
Loading Aprons, Bin Pads and Equipment Pads
Truck aprons, dock approaches, dumpster enclosures and pads for transformers, generators and rooftop unit staging all take concentrated loads that asphalt cannot handle. We pour them thicker, reinforced and doweled to adjoining slabs.
Commercial Concrete Repair
Spalled entrances, scaled sidewalks and cracked slabs are handled through our concrete repair and resurfacing work. Sunken walkway panels that create trip hazards can often be raised with concrete leveling and slab lifting instead of removal.
Polished Concrete and Floor Coatings
Showrooms, shops and food plants often finish a slab with polished concrete and epoxy floors. Options include ground and polished concrete, epoxy flake, quartz and fast-return polyaspartic systems.
Footings and structural pours
For canopies, sign bases, small additions and retaining walls, we form and pour concrete foundations and footings to the engineer's drawings and the 2024 Ontario Building Code.
Our clients
Who We Work With
We work for the people responsible for a building, its budget and its schedule. Each client type needs something slightly different from a concrete contractor, and we adjust how we communicate and document the job to match.
General contractors
A flatwork sub who reads the spec, attends coordination meetings, sends submittals on time and leaves the site clean for the next trade.
Property managers
Phased repairs that keep tenants open, clear unit pricing for budgeting, and photo reports you can forward to owners.
Industrial owners
Slab and apron work scheduled around shifts and shipping, with joint layouts planned for forklift traffic and racking.
Developers and builders
Site sidewalks, curbs, garage slabs and footings for new commercial and multi-unit projects, poured to the approved drawings.
Quality records
Specs, Testing and Documentation
On a commercial job, the paperwork proves the concrete is what the spec called for. You should expect a mix submittal before the pour, field test results during it, and strength results and photos after it.
Mixes follow CSA A23.1, the national standard for concrete materials and construction. Exterior flatwork exposed to de-icing salt is usually Class C-2 (32 MPa, 5 to 8% air), while reinforced elements exposed to chlorides may call for the stricter C-1 class your engineer specifies.
What to request from any commercial concrete contractor:
- Mix design submittal from the ready-mix supplier showing strength, exposure class, air content and maximum water-to-cementing-materials ratio.
- Delivery tickets for every truck, recording the mix, batch time and any water added on site.
- Field tests for slump, air content and concrete temperature, taken at the truck using CSA A23.2 methods.
- Cylinder results from test specimens cast on site, typically broken at 7 and 28 days to confirm design strength.
- Base compaction results where the specification calls for density testing.
- As-built photos of the base, reinforcement, joint layout and finished surface, plus cold-weather protection records for winter pours.
Testing is usually done by an independent lab hired by the owner or general contractor. Ask that their technician holds the CSA field testing technician certification, and we will coordinate pour times so they are on site for every truck.

Minimal disruption
Scheduling Around Your Operations
We plan the pour sequence so your customers, tenants and trucks keep moving. That usually means phasing the work, adjusting hours and protecting fresh concrete until it can carry traffic.
- Phased pours that replace one half of an entrance or apron while the other half stays open.
- Early, evening and weekend work for retail and food service sites, within our hours of Monday to Saturday from 7:00am to 9:00pm and Sunday from 9:00am to 6:00pm.
- Traffic control with barricades, cones, signage and marked pedestrian detours.
- Cure-time planning, typically foot traffic after 24 to 48 hours and vehicles after about 7 days, or sooner with a high-early mix approved by your engineer.
Work in the municipal road allowance, such as a new curb cut, a city sidewalk or the boulevard, needs a City of London Work Approval Permit. Applications go in at least 7 days ahead and require securities, so we build that lead time into the schedule.

Site safety
Safety and Compliance on Commercial Sites
We run every commercial site under Ontario's construction safety regulation and give you the documents to prove it. Ask for them before the first truck arrives.
WSIB clearance. Request our WSIB clearance certificate before work starts. Under the WSIB construction clearance policy, a principal who hires without one can be held liable for a contractor's unpaid premiums.
O. Reg. 213/91. Our crews work to Ontario Regulation 213/91 for Construction Projects, covering protective equipment, excavation, traffic protection and site housekeeping.
Insurance on file. A certificate of insurance is available on request for your project file or tenant coordinator.
Locates and hazards. Every excavation starts with Ontario One Call locates, and sealers and coatings are handled with safety data sheets on site.
If your site requires additional prequalification, such as a specific safety program or orientation, tell us at bid time and we will confirm what we can provide before pricing.
