What we pour

Residential Concrete Services We Offer in London

We handle almost any concrete surface around a house, from the driveway at the curb to the hot tub pad in the back corner. Each service below has its own page with process details, prices and answers to common questions.

Most London homes need more than one surface, so we often pour a driveway, walkway and steps in a single visit. Combining work saves a second mobilization charge and gives you one matching finish across the front of the property.

Driveways and Driveway Widening

Driveways are the job we pour most often. Our concrete driveway installation service covers asphalt-to-concrete conversions, full replacements and side extensions. Widening must respect London's limit of 50% of lot frontage, to a maximum of 8 m.

Stamped and Exposed Aggregate Finishes

Stamped concrete imprints slate, ashlar, brick or wood plank textures with integral or broadcast colour. Exposed aggregate concrete reveals rounded river stone for a rugged, slip-resistant surface.

Patios, Pool Decks, Walkways and Steps

Our concrete patios and pool decks are sloped to shed water away from the house and the pool. For the front of the home, we build concrete steps, walkways and porches on frost-protected footings.

Garage Floors, Sheds and Hot Tub Pads

We break out failed garage slabs and replace them with a 32 MPa floor sloped to the door. Our garage floors and concrete pads page also covers shed, generator, air conditioner and hot tub bases.

Repair, Levelling and Sealing

Not every tired slab needs replacing. We offer concrete repair and resurfacing, concrete leveling and slab lifting for sunken panels, and a concrete sealing service that helps new and old surfaces resist salt.

Repair or replace?

If you are unsure what your concrete needs, match what you are seeing to a service in the project comparison table below. We will confirm it on a free site visit.

Find your fix

Which Project Fits Your Home?

Start with the problem or the goal, not the product. The table matches the most common things London homeowners tell us to the service that usually solves them.

A sound slab with a damaged surface can often be repaired, while a slab that has cracked through and moved usually points to a base problem only replacement fixes.

What you are seeing or wantRecommended serviceWhy it fits
Driveway with wide cracks, heaved panels or a crumbling base, usually 25+ years old Driveway replacement When the base has failed, patching only buys a season or two.
You want a second parking space or a wider approach Driveway widening A doweled side extension stays flush with the old slab.
A plain grey patio or walkway you want to look like slate, flagstone or wood Stamped concrete Pattern and colour without the weeds and shifting of loose pavers.
Grip around a pool or on a sloped walk Exposed aggregate The stone texture gives better traction when wet.
An empty backyard, or a pool going in this summer Patio or pool deck Sloped away from the house so water never sits against the foundation.
Front steps crumbling, rocking or pulling away from the house New poured steps New steps go on footings below the 1.2 m frost line.
Cracked, stained garage floor, or a base for a shed or hot tub Garage floor or pad Proper thickness and slope for the load it carries.
Surface flaking from road salt, but the slab is solid and level Resurfacing or crack repair Restores the top layer for a fraction of replacement cost.
A slab that has sunk toward the house or left a trip edge Slab lifting Foam lifting raises the existing slab in a few hours.
New or recently cleaned concrete you want to protect from salt Sealing A penetrating sealer slows water and chloride absorption.

Every recommendation is confirmed on site. If repair will not last, we will tell you before you spend money on it.

Built for freeze-thaw

Residential Specs for Ontario Winters

Exterior concrete in London has to survive dozens of freeze-thaw cycles each winter, heavy road salt and clay soils that hold water. That is why every exterior pour we quote uses a CSA A23.1 Class C-2: 32 MPa, 5 to 8% air entrainment, maximum 0.45 water-to-cementing-materials ratio.

The air bubbles give freezing water room to expand, and the low water ratio makes the paste dense enough to resist chlorides. The requirements come from CSA A23.1 and the 2024 Ontario Building Code, which sets 32 MPa for garage floors and exterior flatwork.

  • Thickness: 100 mm (4 in.) for cars, 125 to 150 mm (5 to 6 in.) for heavy trucks, trailers and RVs.
  • Base: 150 to 200 mm (6 to 8 in.) of compacted Granular A, placed over firm, undisturbed subgrade.
  • Control joints: saw cut to one quarter of the slab depth and spaced 2 to 3 times the slab thickness in feet, so about 8 to 12 ft on a 4 in. slab.
  • Steps and porches: footings below the 1.2 m (4 ft) frost line.
  • Curing: at least 7 days, then no de-icers for the first winter.

Our driveway installation page explains each of these specs in more detail, and the Concrete Ontario Residential Flatwork Guide is a good independent reference.

How a job runs

Our Residential Process, Start to Finish

A typical driveway or patio takes 2 to 4 days on site, plus a week of curing before you park on it. Here is what happens from the first call to the final walkthrough.

  1. Site visit and quote

We measure, check grades and drainage, and flag any permit needs such as a City of London Work Approval Permit for a new curb cut.

  2. Utility locates

We request free locates through Ontario One Call before any digging, as provincial law requires.

  3. Removal and base

Old surfaces come out, soft clay is dug to firm ground, and Granular A is compacted in lifts with a plate compactor.

  4. Forms, steel and pour

We set forms, add rebar or fibres such as Sika Fibermesh-300 where the design calls for it, and place ready-mix from London plants.

  5. Finish and cut joints

The crew applies your broom, stamped or exposed finish, then saw cuts control joints once the slab can carry the saw.

  6. Cure and seal

A curing compound such as Euclid Super Diamond Clear holds moisture in, and a penetrating sealer can follow once the slab has cured.

  7. Final walkthrough

We walk the job with you, hand over care instructions for the first winter and confirm your written warranty.

Residential Concrete Pricing in London

Most new residential concrete in London costs between $11 and $26 per square foot installed, depending on the finish. The ranges below are typical 2026 London prices and include base preparation, forming, placing and finishing unless noted.

Concrete pump$450 to $900 per pour when a pump is neededOnly for backyards the truck cannot reach

Ranges are estimates for planning. Your written quote is based on a site visit.

The biggest price drivers are access, removal and finish. A backyard patio behind a fence that needs a pump costs more than a front driveway the truck can reach, and stamped patterns take more labour than a broom finish. Ask about pouring several surfaces together to share mobilization and pump costs.
